Expressions of Interest
are invited for the privatisation of
The Central Electricity Generating Company of Jordan
The Electricity Sector Privatisation Steering Committee (the “Steering Committee”), on behalf of the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, invites Expressions of Interest (“EOI”) from strategic investors or consortia of strategic and financial investors interested in acquiring a 51% interest in the Central Electricity Generating Company of Jordan (“CEGCO”).
CEGCO is the principal electricity generation company in Jordan with an installed capacity of 1,636 MW.
Interested parties should fax or e-mail their EOI along with:
full name, address, telephone and fax number;
brief profile of their company/consortium; and
name of the principal contact.
To H.E Azmi Khreisat, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Chairman of The Electricity Sector Privatisation Steering Committee (the “Chairman of the Steering Committee”), with a copy to N M Rothschild & Sons Limited (“Rothschild”) at the addresses set out below. The fax or e-mail containing the EOI should be clearly marked “Expression of interest for CEGCO” and must be received by the Chairman of the Steering Committee by no later than 1pm (Jordanian Time) on 3 May 2004.
Parties with relevant credentials who submit an EOI will be dispatched an Invitation to Prequalify. The Prequalification Application (including a signed confidentiality agreement) must be submitted to the Chairman of the Steering Committee, with a copy to Rothschild, no later than 1pm (Jordanian time) on 31 May 2004.

The Steering Committee reserves the right to reject or accept any EOI from any person and further reserves the right to modify, cancel, suspend or terminate any aspect of the privatisation process and/or the pre-qualification criteria at any time, for any reason and without giving prior notice. An EOI shall not be construed as an offer. Similarly, this announcement is not an offer (to sell securities or otherwise) nor is it a prospectus, nor is it a solicitation of, or an invitation for, an offer (to buy any securities or otherwise) in any jurisdiction.
